The shared money map plan template
A four part working template for the plan document you build with a client in the first session and update at every monthly check in.
This is the document that carries a coaching engagement. Not a report you write about her, but a page you build together in the first session, that she takes home, and that both of you open again every month. It has four parts: what her money does now, the three things she is trying to change, the monthly record of whether it happened, and the boundaries of what coaching covers.
Fill it in during the session rather than afterward. A client who watches her own numbers land on the page owns them in a way she never will if you email a finished plan two days later. Work through the four stages below in order, and keep the whole thing to one page she can read without you.
Part one, the baseline page
Part two, the goal page
Part three, the monthly check in log
Part four, the boundary page
How to use it
Use the template live. Open it in the first paid session, build the baseline page with her while the statements are in front of both of you, and set the three milestones before the ninety minutes are up. If you run out of time, leave the goal page half finished rather than filling it in alone afterward, because the plan she watched you write is the one she follows.
At every check in, open the same document rather than a fresh note. Update the two figures per milestone, add the line about what moved, write the one action, and set the next date. Twelve of those entries is what a renewal conversation is built on, and it is also the record you hand over if a colleague covers a session or the engagement ends in a referral.

Questions about this document
Can I put my own practice name and scope language on it?
Yes, it is meant to be branded and edited. Keep the four parts in order, since the sequence is what makes the first session work, and replace the scope wording with the language your own agreement already uses.
Is this the same as an intake packet?
No. The intake packet is what you send before money changes hands, covering agreement, scope, consent and data handling. This template is the working plan you build in the first paid session and update every month after that.
How does this relate to MoneyMapCoach itself?
The template is the paper version of what the software holds, so it is a fair way to test the method before you subscribe. In the app the same four parts stay current across your whole roster and the check in log builds itself month by month.
From one filled page to a standing record
The four parts hold beautifully for a client or two, then a roster arrives and the March baseline is in a folder nobody can find at renewal. MoneyMapCoach keeps the same four parts for every engagement and builds the check in log as you go, so twelve months of mapped against actual is already there when she asks whether this was worth it. Send one completed plan and we will run it through a year on the call.
