Rebuilding the numbers every month
You reopen the file, hunt for last month's balances, retype them, and only then start coaching. Across a caseload of twenty five clients that is a full working day a month.
7.5 hours a month, unbillable
Financial coaching software
Your client leaves the session clear and steady. Four weeks later nobody can say what changed, and the next hour goes to reconstructing the numbers instead of coaching them.
MoneyMapCoach holds the budget, the goals and the milestones in one document you both open, and records each monthly check in against it.
The gap between sessions
Most practices we meet run on a spreadsheet built for one client and copied twenty times, a folder of PDFs, and a memory of what was agreed in March. That works until the caseload passes a dozen people.

7.5 hours a month, unbillable
"Pay down the card" and "get serious about retirement" feel like progress in the room. Without a target figure and a date they cannot be scored, so neither of you knows whether the month worked.
No baseline, no proof
Engagement drops when the plan lives on your laptop instead of hers. Coaches tell us the fifth and sixth months are where six month packages quietly end.
$1,140 per lapsed engagement
A midlife money decision arrives with settlement statements, a pension estimate and two attorneys. Loose notes are the wrong container for work that may be reviewed later.
Hours of retracing
When a CPA or a family attorney asks what your clients actually achieve, an anecdote is all you have. Aggregate outcomes sit trapped in twenty separate spreadsheets.
Referral pipeline stalls
If your associate covers a session, she starts from scratch. There is no single place that says where this client stands, what was promised, and what comes next.
45 minutes of prep per cover
How it works
Four moves. The first takes about twenty minutes per client, the rest are the rhythm of your practice.
Enter take home pay, fixed commitments, variable spending and every balance owed or saved. The map lays it out as a gridded plan table she recognizes from her own bank statements, not as a pie chart.
Turn each goal into a target amount and a target month: $9,000 of reserve by June 2027, the auto loan closed by March. Milestones sit on a path, so she can see the order they arrive in.
One link opens the live plan on her phone. She sees the same figures you see, updated after every check in, with no login puzzle and nothing to download.
Open the check in screen, record the current balances, and the map recalculates the path. Anything ahead or behind is flagged before the call, so the session starts with a decision rather than data entry.

Inside the product
Every screen was drawn with practicing coaches, then cut back until nothing was left that you would not use in a live session.
Income, commitments, flexible spending and reserves sit in one ruled table with tabular figures that line up down the column. Clients read it the way they read a statement, which removes the usual ten minutes of orientation.
Each goal becomes a marker with an amount, a month and a status. Markers light up as they are met, so a client who has been paying down a balance for eleven months can see exactly how much path is behind her.
A dated record of every balance you captured and every commitment made in the session. Twelve months in, the log is the story of the engagement and it writes itself as you work.
One link gives your client a read only view of the live plan, and one click gives her a printable version for the kitchen drawer. You control what is visible and can revoke the link at any time.
Put the current plan beside a what if column: part time hours from September, a refinance, one adult child moving out. She compares two real futures side by side instead of holding them in her head.
One view across your whole caseload showing who is due for a check in, whose milestones slipped and what the practice achieved this quarter. It is the number you give a referring CPA when she asks what you do.
What changes
Figures below come from 118 practices that ran on MoneyMapCoach for at least two full quarters between January 2025 and June 2026.
Prep collapses because balances are entered once, in the check in screen, and everything downstream recalculates. Coaches carrying twenty to thirty clients report the largest gain.
When a client can open the plan between sessions and watch a marker light up, she renews. Practices measured this against their own prior year, not against an industry benchmark.
The roll up shows who is due this week, so nobody slips two months without contact. Missed check ins were the single strongest predictor of a client leaving early.
| Milestone | Target | Target month | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter reserve | $2,500 | March 2026 | Met, one month early |
| Store card closed | $1,840 | July 2026 | Met |
| Auto loan closed | $7,300 | February 2027 | On path |
| Six month reserve | $14,200 | September 2027 | On path |
| Retirement contribution raised | 9% of pay | January 2028 | Scheduled |
Coaches on the record
I coach women who are three years out from an inheritance decision or two years out from a divorce settling. The map is the first tool that let me show one of them, on her own phone, that eleven months of hard choices had actually moved the needle. She cried, then she renewed.
We were running twelve tabs per client in a shared spreadsheet and losing an afternoon a week to it. Now my associate can pick up any file cold and know within a minute where that household stands. Cover sessions stopped being a problem in about six weeks.
The scenario columns earn their keep in the room. A client asked what dropping to four days would really cost her, and instead of promising to look into it I put both columns on the screen while she watched. She booked another six months that afternoon.

Who this fits
MoneyMapCoach was built with practices working on midlife money: the years around a divorce, a caregiving decision, a career change at fifty, an inheritance that arrives with more questions than cash.
| Before | After | Time returned per month |
|---|---|---|
| Duplicated client spreadsheet | Money map with gridded plan tables | 3.2 hours |
| PDF plan emailed after each session | Shared plan document on a live link | 1.4 hours |
| Notebook of session commitments | Dated monthly check in log | 0.9 hours |
| Manual reminder list of who is due | Practice roll up with due dates | 0.6 hours |
Pricing
Every plan carries unlimited client maps, the shared plan document and the full check in log. The difference is how many coaches work inside the practice.
$29 per month
For the independent coach carrying her own caseload.
$69 per month
For a practice of two to five coaches sharing a caseload.
$145 per month
For firms running multiple coaches with reporting duties.
All prices are in US dollars and billed monthly. There is no annual commitment, no setup fee and no per client charge. You can cancel at any time from inside your account and keep access until the end of the paid month, and your data stays exportable for ninety days after that.
Questions coaches ask first
You pay for coach logins, not for clients. Solo Coach is $29 per month for one coach, Practice is $69 per month for up to five, and Coaching Firm is $145 per month for up to twenty. Client maps, check ins, plan documents and printable plans are unlimited on every plan, so a busy month never costs you more than a quiet one.
Most coaches map their first client within an afternoon of getting access. Building a map from a completed intake form takes about twenty minutes the first time and closer to ten once you know where things live. If you are migrating an existing caseload, send us your spreadsheet and we will import the balances and goals for you at no charge on any plan.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest on servers in the United States, with daily backups held for thirty days. We do not connect to bank accounts and we never ask for client banking credentials, because balances are entered by you or by your client during the check in. The data belongs to your practice, we do not sell it, and you can export every plan as CSV and PDF whenever you want.
Yes. Calendar links from Calendly and Acuity drop straight onto the check in schedule, and completed check ins can push a summary to your scheduling notes. Every map exports to CSV for your bookkeeping, and the printable plan is a clean PDF you can attach to any client email or upload to a portal you already use.
You cancel from inside your account in two clicks and keep full access until the end of the month you already paid for. Nothing is deleted at that moment: your plans and check in logs stay exportable for ninety days so you can take everything with you. After ninety days the account and its client records are permanently removed, and we will confirm that by email.
That worry is fair, and it shaped the design. There is no dashboard theater, no score, no badge and no notification that nudges your client behind your back. The map is one table and one path, and coaches tell us they share the screen for about five minutes of an hour and spend the rest of the session on the conversation the numbers opened.
The Coaching Ledger
Compliance lines, intake craft and the numbers behind a solo practice. Three recent pieces, and nine in all.
regulation and compliance
Coaching is unregistered work until you give specific securities advice for compensation. Here is where the Advisers Act line sits, what state registration adds, and how to keep sessions on the safe side.
practical guide
A post divorce budget rests on documents most clients have not gathered yet. This walks the first ninety minutes, from decree obligations and title changes to a spending baseline she will actually recognize.
comparison
Both credentials signal competence to clients and employers, but they differ in coursework, supervised hours, exam structure, cost and renewal. Here is a side by side read for a solo practice.
Book a walkthrough
Thirty minutes, screen shared, no slides. You bring an anonymized intake sheet from a client you are actually coaching, and we build the map together so you can judge the tool on your own numbers rather than on a demo account.
Requests are read by a person, usually the same day. If MoneyMapCoach is a poor fit for how your practice runs, we will tell you plainly rather than book a second call.
One reply from a person, no automated sequence, no card details ever collected on this site. For a client budget map question before you even sign up, email jimenezjulien42@gmail.com and it lands in the same inbox.
